Parrot ID Card
How To Register A Bird Image
Parrot ID- Support on Facebook
To create a Parrot ID Card for your (FID) Feathered Kid,
upload a clear photo of your companion bird along with the bird name or owner name.
Every photo you register becomes part of that bird's Parrot ID Card in our Global Image Database.
Your Parrot ID Card is a unique 'feather fingerprint' of your bird.
Rather than relying on overall color or the background of the photo,
our matching system locks onto the fine individual details that make
YOUR bird one of a kind โ the eye ring, the cere, the striations on the beak,
the scale pattern on the legs, and the boundaries between feather groups.
When a 'found bird' image is uploaded, the system compares those same details
against every card in the Global Image Database and confirms a match only when
the found bird's features genuinely line up with a registered bird's. This identifies
your individual bird โ not just the species โ and holds up even when the 'found bird'
photo was taken from a different angle, at a different distance, or in different light.
Your email address will never be shared or sold for marketing. It is released to the person who uploaded a matching 'found bird' image only while you have that bird flagged as Missing in your dashboard, so they can contact you about your bird being found.
Every match is recorded and sent to you. The moment a 'found bird' photo matches one of your registered images, we email you and create a permanent match record โ whether or not the bird is flagged Missing. From your dashboard you can download that record as a Certified Match Record (PDF). It contains your registry image, the found-bird photo it matched, the date and time, the match score, and a tamper-evident seal that anyone can verify against our server. Keep it: if ownership is ever questioned, it is documented evidence that your registered bird was photographed and identified.

Almost as good as Parrot DNA 🧬
You may use any email address. It is revealed to someone uploading a matching 'found bird' image only while you have that bird flagged as 'missing' โ never while it is flagged 'safe'. You can access all of your registered bird images in your user account and switch any of them between 'safe' and 'missing' at any time. You are emailed about every match either way, with a downloadable record of it.
See our Resources section in the main menu for tips about photographing birds, creating images of your bird best suited for this biometric hashing system.
